I am a huge sucker for history. Not many people my age would have as many books as I do on old wars, Aztec traditions and traditional Egyptian and Japanese lifestyles, but there is just something about them that gets me every time. Along with these inspiring ways of living come some amazing food, and last nights dinner proved to add that little bit extra. 
After a long day of traveling and watching a swell football match Dan and I settled down to kick back on the lounge with some Chinese. We went to the same Chinese restaurant I used to go to as child and received two fortune cookies from the same little old man who has served me since I was four.  He smiled and asked me to put my hand in the bucket to pick out two cookies, I am always a little nervous hoping that I get a good one. I picked out one each for Dan and I and left with a huge smile. The best part of eating Chinese is the cracking of the fortune cookie. Dan and I were extremely happy with our results. Today I spent the day reading Chinese proverbs, they are all so amazing and so true! These little cookies always bring me so much happiness, not only with a glimpse of hope but by also bringing back memories. 

Mr. Right

When you so pleasantly ask my family for 'Vegas', this is what you get. Another year has rolled by and Dad managed to take out World Champion Mortgage Broker for the third year in a row. Yay Dad! Every year Dan and I have been there, usually drinking more than the rest of them, and have watched Dad shake Mr. LJ Hooker's hand and receive his big trophy with a smile. You know you have found Mr Right when he can match your enthusiasm for drinking, dancing and celebrating your Dad's win!
Dolled up last year in Pirate attire we drank, danced and Pirated around in the magnificently presented Bookies ring of Randwick Race Course. This year the name was Vegas, 'Las Vegas'. We all added our own little interpretation of what Vegas was to us and this is how we ran for the night. If we mixed it all together it would be a person wearing a shimmery dress with a tailored jacket, a cowboy top hat, big hair and a styled beard?? Hmm.. sounds like Vegas to me. The night was pure bliss, there is never a dull moment with my family.

Hollywood showreel SFX/Makeup for Lunar Wolf Productions

Here is a sneak peak of some still shots that were taken of my makeup/SFX done on set with Lunar Wolf Productions. These amazing talents had so much to offer along with their beautiful personalities, I wish it was forever! I walked through Paddington in the pouring rain with no idea where I was heading, that alone made an eventful experience with no umbrella or map. When I reached the final destination I was greeted with a heater and open arms from strangers who are now great friends. By the end of the day it was hugs, kisses, phone number exchanges and pinky promises for future endeavors. 

These girls were instantly glamorous in their 1950's costumes, pink cheeks, pink dresses, red lips and bold eyes  - they looked stunning. This kind of makeup was so enjoyable, time periods always put you in a special setting with particular elements that are so foreign yet so common in our fashion/ makeup trends these days. A great way to add a little depth to my montage.

Practicing for the re-creation of a scene from Mona Lisa Smile, American accents were bellowing out down the hall while we were doing hair and makeup. We all joined in the character play and ended up in hysterical laughter due to my unsuccessful attempt at putting on an accent - my excuse was that I was still in 'Murder mode' from doing the SFX from the previous scene.
